What’s Included:
When you are visiting London, visiting the British Museum is a must! But the age-old question when traveling: how can you visit a museum with the kids?? Don’t worry- we’ve got you covered. We have designed an engaging and amusing treasure hunt in the British Museum that will entertain the whole family! Our mission: learning while having fun!
With your kid-friendly guide leading the way and some fun activity booklets, your little sleuths will have to solve riddles throughout the museum and learn along the way! Venture into the Egyptian department to meet some mummies. Adventurous! There, you’ll also visit the world-famous Rosetta Stone (the original one, not the CD language-learning set 😀 ).
Second on the voyage will be the Department of the Middle East and the Winged Bulls. The British Museum are pros at this section, with the most comprehensive collection of Mesopotamian antiquities outside of Iraq. You and your private eyes will investigate the human-headed winged bulls, or lamassus, of Assyria. These magical creatures will bring mysterious enigmas to your treasure hunt!

If you can crack the riddles in Egypt and the Middle East (and we are sure you can!), you will head to the Greek galleries. Your children will marvel at the original statues that were used to decorate the Parthenon. Wowza! The British Museum has one of the largest collections of antiquities from the Classical world with over 100,000 objects, so your investigators will have no shortage of puzzles to solve there! But hurry- they must be solved before the treasure can be found!
The activity booklets for this Treasure Hunt have been designed to challenge your young detectives, but not to give them riddles they can’t ever hope to crack. Thus, we have activity booklets to match the ages and levels of your kiddos so that everyone can have a great time no matter what! Your family will be paired with a “Mary Poppins” guide, a fantastic storyteller that can bring even the oldest of antiquities to life for any age. With the riddles, activity booklets, kid-friendly guide, and perfectly planned Treasure Hunt, this is sure to be the best family trip to the British Museum possible!
And if you’re looking for another museum to visit the fun, Meet-the-Locals way, check out our Tower of London tour!
Because the museum has free entry, you’ll simply have to wait in line for security. Also, the lines tend to be shorter on weekdays.

Absolutely! We have two sets of activity booklets- one set for kids under 6 and another set for kids over 6. Plus, your awesome kid-friendly expert knows how to adapt their speech for family members of all ages.
Yes, no problem. We’d be happy for you to bring your young ones- learning and having fun can never start too young!
Of course! The British Museum is extensive, so our tour cannot possibly cover it in its entirety, but we do visit some of its most exciting exhibits. You are more than welcome to stay and discover the rest of it once your awesome treasure hunt is finished.
