Milestones:
Visiting Versailles for a full day as a family can quickly turn into a marathon. Long walks, endless rooms… and at some point, you lose the kids and the teens. Not exactly the royal experience you had in mind, right?
That’s exactly why we designed this private full day Versailles tour for families.
Instead of just walking through rooms, your family will follow the story of Marie Antoinette, from the strict world of the Court to the more private life she created for herself.
Our guides are amazing storytellers who know exactly how to bring Marie Antoinette’s world to life, so you’ll feel right there in 18th-century Versailles… but don’t worry, you won’t need wigs or crinolines.
In the morning, you’ll step into the world of the Court, exploring the Hall of Mirrors and the State Apartments of the King and Queen while discovering what life at the Court really meant, and how it shaped Marie Antoinette’s life.
In the afternoon, everything changes. Hop on a golf cart and leave the formal Court behind as you head to Marie Antoinette’s private estate, from the Petit Trianon to her charming Hamlet, where real animals roam and a completely different side of Versailles comes to life.

So, what’s the plan?
First, the Palace. You’ll explore the State Apartments of the King and Queen, as well as the breathtaking Hall of Mirrors, where life at the Court was on full display.
Everything here was about appearances, power and ceremony, in a world where every moment was staged and observed. Along the way, your guide will share the strangest and sometimes quite funny rules of life at Court that kids and teens love discovering.
This is where your family begins to understand why Marie Antoinette wanted to escape. She arrived in France at just 14, suddenly expected to live under these rules, constantly watched and with very little freedom.
Then it’s time to step outside. The Royal Gardens stretch as far as the eye can see, with grand perspectives, fountains and perfectly designed landscapes. In summer, the Fountain Shows and Musical Gardens bring an extra layer of magic to this part of the visit.
By now, even royalty would agree… it’s time for a break. You’ll have free time to recharge before the second part of the day, whether you go for a proper restaurant or just a quick snack. In July and August, a picnic can also be arranged.
And now… everything changes.
Hop on your golf cart, your very own modern-day carriage, and leave the formal Court behind. This is where you discover a completely different side of Versailles, the one Marie Antoinette created for herself.
First stop, the Petit Trianon, a more intimate place where Marie Antoinette could finally escape the rigid life of the Court.
Then on to her famous Hamlet. A countryside village, right in Versailles. Cottages, gardens… and yes, real animals. Sheep, goats, chickens quietly wandering around. It’s always a highlight for kids.
Whether you’re a history lover, a Marie Antoinette enthusiast, or simply curious to experience Versailles in a different way, this tour is designed for the whole family. Because when kids and teens are engaged, everyone enjoys the day… and that’s exactly what this experience is all about.

Not at all. You don’t need any prior knowledge. Marie Antoinette’s story is simply the thread that helps your family understand life at the Court, instead of just visiting a palace room after room. Our guides make it easy to follow, fun, and engaging for kids and teens alike, so everyone enjoys the experience.
Is this Versailles Full Day Family tour suitable for young kids?
[bouton_read_more]
Yes, even though it’s a full day. Our guides know exactly how to keep younger kids engaged with interactive storytelling and regular breaks. The golf cart ride in the afternoon and the animals at Marie Antoinette’s Hamlet are always a big hit.
Is this tour suitable for teenagers?
Absolutely. Our guides adapt their storytelling with more detailed historical facts and real insights into life at Court, making the experience engaging for teens as well as adults.
How do we get to Versailles?
We take care of your transfers to Versailles. You can travel by train with your guide (about a 50-minute ride from Paris) or opt for a private van with chauffeur. If you prefer, the tour can also start directly in Versailles. Just send us a message here.
Do you offer skip-the-line access at Versailles?
Yes, we provide skip-the-line access to the Palace. The Gardens and Marie Antoinette’s estate do not operate with timed entry, so this type of access does not apply there.
Who drives the golf cart?
As not all our guides hold a driving license, we ask two adults from your group to be ready to drive the golf carts. Don’t worry, they are electric, very easy to handle, and you’ll receive a quick introduction before setting off. Drivers simply need a valid physical driver’s license, as it must be left at the rental office.
Are the gardens included all year round?
Yes, access to the gardens is included all year round. Their appeal changes with the seasons. In winter, we usually spend less time there, while in spring and summer they become a real highlight, especially with the Fountain Shows and Musical Gardens.
Are the Musical Gardens and Fountain Shows included?
Yes. When the Musical Gardens or Fountain Shows are scheduled, your tickets include access to these special events.
As golf carts follow a specific route, we won’t be able to see every fountain during the ride. To enjoy the best of the show, we’ll park the golf cart and explore some areas on foot, just like the courtiers once did.
Is lunch included in the tour?
No, lunch is not included, but you’ll have free time to recharge, with several restaurants and snack options available within the Versailles estate. You can check the options by clicking here.
Can we have a picnic in the gardens?
Yes, there is a dedicated area in the gardens if you wish to bring your own picnic. Alternatively, we can arrange everything for you in July and August. If you’d like us to organize it, simply click here.
