Led by an expert kid-friendly guide, this interactive Notre Dame family tour transforms the historic Île de la Cité and the legendary Notre Dame Cathedral into an exciting playground of clues, stories and discovery. You will step inside Notre Dame Cathedral, a monument more than 860 years old, for a memorable experience that captivates both kids and adults.

Your mission centers on the Crown of Thorns, one of the most sacred Christian relics. The Archbishop of Paris has locked it inside a special chest protected by a secret numerical code hidden across the island. Your family has been chosen to test this clever system and see if it really works.

These optional visits are ideal for families who want to extend the investigation and explore even more of Paris’s history.

This Notre Dame mystery adventure offers a perfect mix of storytelling, investigation and playful excitement, where children and teens stay fully engaged and history truly feels like a game.

Is the inside visit of Notre Dame included in this tour?

Yes, the visit inside Notre Dame Cathedral is included. Your guide will enter with you, but since Notre Dame is an active place of worship, guiding inside is not permitted. Explanations are given beforehand, and then you will walk through the cathedral together in silence. Please note that there may be a short wait to enter, as access is free and there are no skip-the-line tickets.

Is the tour adapted to young kids?

Yes, absolutely. Your guide is a talented storyteller, and the game is adapted to suit even the youngest participants. Parents are encouraged to join in too, or the Archbishop may never recover the code.

Will my teens enjoy the tour?

Does the tour involve a lot of walking?

Not at all. The Île de la Cité is small, measuring about 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) in length. Your family will walk at a comfortable pace, always adapted to everyone’s rhythm.

Can we visit the Conciergerie?

Yes, you can visit the Conciergerie with your guide. During the booking process, simply select this option. This visit is ideal for families interested in history, offering insight into the Conciergerie’s past as both a royal palace and a revolutionary prison.

Can we visit Sainte-Chapelle?

Yes, you can add a visit to Sainte-Chapelle when booking. Famous for its extraordinary stained-glass windows, this remarkable medieval landmark is a wonderful complement to the Notre Dame experience for families who want to explore another highlight of medieval Paris.

Are there Masses at Notre Dame, and will we attend one during the tour?

Notre Dame is an active place of worship with daily Masses and services that are free and open to all. Typical Mass times are:
• Weekdays: 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:30 AM, 10:00 AM (Gregorian Mass), and 11:30 AM

If a Mass is taking place when you arrive, your guide will not be allowed to speak inside and will provide explanations beforehand. Entry may also take longer, as priority is given to worshippers attending Mass.
