Overview

Calling all “Culture Vulture” families, art enthusiast teens and film devotees of all ages – discover the history of Medieval Honfleur and the chic style of Deauville on our full-day tour from Paris to the “Flower Coast”,  where you’ll find something to fascinate and entertain everyone!

Discover how the Impressionist Art Movement started in Honfleur with Claude Monet and Eugene Boudin; how the pretty harbour played a part in establishing French trade with Canada, and why St Catherine’s Church would float if you tipped it upside down.

In contrast, Deauville, built in the Belle Époque style, is the glamorous and naughty younger sister! Known as the ‘Parisian Riviera’ and famous for horse racing, casinos and its annual American film festival, Deauville sits along a stunning white-sand beach and is a favourite with A-list celebrities from Hollywood and beyond – you might even spot a few when you are there!

Perfect for all the family, you depart Paris at 9.30am by private minibus with guide, and take a 2.5 hour drive north through the French countryside. On arrival in Honfleur, you can explore the prettiest harbour in all of France, painted by so many famous artists, or wander through the old town breathing-in its rich history and atmosphere. There will be time for lunch to enjoy typical Normandy specialities like crepes, mussels and apple tart with cream.

A true 5-star Adventure to Normandy in a luxury van with a guide and chauffeur

Next, feel the wind on your face and enjoy the thrill of a 3.5-hour ride by Chauffeur-driven motorcycle & sidecar (one riding pillion behind the driver, and one in the sidecar) to discover the real Côte Fleurie. There’s no better or exciting way to see the stunning beaches and beautiful scenery of this well-known region and the kids will have the time of their lives!

Our knowledgeable driver-guides will take you up to Notre-Dame-de-Grace to see panoramic views of Mont-Joli and the coast line, and across to the discreet village of Villerville – used as the backdrop for many movies during Deauville’s love affair with the golden age of film.

Normandy is famous for its cider and calvados and we’ve included a private tour of a calvados distillery and cider-press where you can enjoy the taste of Normandy in a glass! The kids get their own apple-juice tasting!

From here you will cruise down into Deauville for a walk along the famous 1.5km boardwalk – look out for the names of Hollywood actors like Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood painted on the bathing huts – or stroll around the town taking in the elegant style of this unique seaside resort.

Our thrilling and unforgettable family adventure ends as you return to your Paris accommodation by 8:30pm having seen, smelt, eaten and felt some of the best France has to offer!

Can we drive the sidecar ourselves?

No, sorry- these vintage motorcycles are precious and only obey their owners!

Is it safe?

The side-car are perfectly safe and suitable for both adults and children. Our vehicles are built according to European safety standards and are fully certified by the Ministry of Interior. All our drivers have a special license for transporting people. All our helmets are connected by a Bluetooth set for communication with other passengers and the driver. The helmets are cleaned and sterilized daily and we can provide an inner lining if you wish.

Is this tour okay for young children?

We do have kids helmets. The minimum legal age for the pillion passenger (behind the driver) is eight years and five years for the sidecar passenger.

If we don’t drink alcohol

No worries, during the visit to the distillery, we can replace the cider or calvados tasting with an apple juice

Is lunch included?

The lunch is not included but we will suggest a few restaurants that we can book for you upon your preferences

Could the weather be a problem for this tour?

The rain is often just a drizzle and does not prevent the tour. We are fully equipped to face any rain (windshield, gloves, poncho, helmet). In case of heavy rain, you can postpone the tour according to availability or replace the side-car by a Jeep.

      • Cancellations made 7 days or more prior to the date of your tour will receive a full refund. Exceptions are: for tours with tickets we charge a 20% cancellation fee; for the Eiffel Tower and Versailles tours (see below for specific cancellation charges).
      • Cancellations made between 7 days and 48 hours prior to the date of your tour will receive a 50% refund.
      • Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the date of your tour will be charged in full.

      For Eiffel Tower activities:

      • Cancellations made 5 days or more prior to the date of your tour will receive a 60% refund.
      • Bookings cancelled within 5 days of the date of your tour will be charged in full.

      For Versailles:

      • Cancellations made 7 days or more prior to the date of your tour will be charged a 250€ cancellation fee.
      • Cancellations made between 7 days and 48 hours prior to the date of your tour will receive a 50% refund.
      • Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the date of your tour will be charged in full.

      For Workshops and Classes:

      • Cancellations made 10 days or more prior to the date of your workshop/class will receive a 50% refund.
      • Bookings cancelled within 10 days of the workshop/class will be charged in full.

      For cruises, Tuk-tuk & Sidecar:

      • Cancellations made 10 days or more prior to the date of your tour will receive a full refund.
      • Cancellations made between 10 days and 5 days prior to the date of your tour will receive a 50% refund.
