For one day, plunge into history and discover some of Normandy’s main sites that witnessed a major historical event: World War II. From German occupation to D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy, your family will experience a unique and vibrant adventure back in time paced with thrilling facts and anecdotes from a kid-friendly guide. This will also be a wonderful opportunity to escape from busy Paris and enjoy the charming green Norman scenery together.
On this 13-hour private tour from Paris, your expert historian guide and private chauffeur will meet you at your hotel or apartment in central Paris. We will reach Normandy after 2 and half hours in an air-conditioned private vehicle. We will stop for breakfast along the way.
We will start with la Pointe du Hoc – one of the most emblematic sites of the D-Day operations. Pointe du Hoc is a cliff that American Rangers climbed up to from the sea on D-Day in order to take German bunkers.
After visiting this spectacular viewpoint, we will head to Omaha beach, where thousands of American soldiers tragically perished on D-Day. Your guide will enthrall you with anecdotes and facts about a captivating piece of history that took place on this beach.
Our next stop will be Colleville, where the American Cemetery and Overlord Museum are located. Here we will stop for a well-deserved lunch break. After lunch, it will be time to visit the famous Cemetery overlooking the sea and the Overlord Museum nearby. The Museum chronicles the period of the Allied landings up until the liberation of Paris. Personal items from individual soldiers and armored fighting vehicles from the six armies in Normandy are presented in a series of reconstitutions showing over 35 vehicles, tanks, and guns. You and your family will be moved by this awe-inspiring visit.
We will finish our journey back in time with the little town of Arromanches, where you can still see the artificial harbor, Mulberry, that was built by the British forces right after D-Day to supply their troops with equipment, vehicles, and ammunition. Get to see how World War II is still part of the daily life of a small Normandy town.
Benefit from your guide’s expertise on the way back to Paris. Sit back and relax with your loved ones and remember the day you’ve just spent revisiting history and the life and struggles of thousands of soldiers and civilians alike who suffered from the war.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Sebastien, was very knowledgeable and had lots of
interesting stories and information to share. The years from 1939 to 1945 were a fascinating time in the
history of Paris. Highly recommended.
