Would you like to share with your kids the rich history of Paris and its medieval heritage but aren’t sure how to keep them entertained? This is where Meet the Locals’ expertise kicks in! Our team of “Mary Poppins” guides are specialized in guiding children to make history sound exciting and our Paris kids tour around Notre-Dame done with activity booklets will make it very special.
At the start of the trip, your dear little darlings will receive an activity booklet that will engage them all along the visit. Acting as detectives, they will have to solve an inquiry in the medieval neighborhood around Notre-Dame with the help of Casquette, a famous dog-archeologist.
The investigation starts outside Cité metro station, in the heart of the Flower Market. Smell and see thousands of flowers and birds that bring charm to the Cité island.

Then, we will walk toward Notre-Dame cathedral. By raising their eyes to the towers, your kids will discover architectural details that will take them back in time to the Middle Ages.
On the way to the Paris Courthouse, you will hear about kings and knights who lived in this former palace. Both its decorative features and architectural elements hold the legacy of these glorious times. Your kids will just need to look around to find these long-lasting souvenirs. 5 minutes away from Notre-Dame, you will discover the Sainte Chapelle, a true Gothic jewel that offers an amazing example of polychromatic religious decoration. With its 15 stained glass windows featuring 1,113 separate scenes taken from the Old and New Testaments, this Royal Chapel is considered the finest example of High-Gothic architecture in the world.
Crossing the Seine River, you will wander on Saint Louis Island, the second island on the River Seine, near la Cité Island. You will get to explore narrow streets and spot lovely views. You will get a real feel for what a lively Parisian neighborhood is like.
After your tour, we recommend you don’t leave Ile Saint Louis without stopping at Berthillon, the famous Parisian ice cream shop!

No, we are not visiting the inside of the Cathedral as it’s now closed for a while. But Paris hosts another Gothic jewel: the Sainte Chapelle, which is included in the tour. During your stroll in Ile de la Cité, you will be able to admire Notre-Dame from the outside.
Your “Mary Poppins” is specialized in touring children of all ages, even the elders! So do not worry, each member of the family will find his/her interest.

Casquette is our cherished dog! Between you and me, we would have loved to provide you with a real dog, but you will have to accept this cartoon dog instead.
Going inside this monument is not included. Your walking tour ends in front of the Cluny museum, so you can visit it directly after your tour.
