Set off on a magical day trip from Paris to Alsace, just under two hours by train! Upon arriving in Strasbourg, your private driver and family-friendly guide will be there to greet you, ready to ensure a festive and unforgettable experience for the whole family.
From Strasbourg, you’ll settle into a cozy, private van for a comfortable ride to the enchanting village of Obernai, just 30 kilometers away, where the true magic of Christmas awaits.
In Obernai, your guide will lead you through the village’s beautifully preserved medieval and Renaissance houses, all adorned with twinkling lights. These charming buildings set the stage for the lively Christmas market, where your guide will keep the children engaged with fun stories, activities, and hands-on experiences. Together, you’ll explore the market stalls, discovering local crafts, holiday treats, and learning about Alsatian Christmas traditions. The festive atmosphere will captivate everyone, making this a truly magical experience for the whole family.
Midday, you’ll enjoy a break for lunch at a traditional Alsatian restaurant. Savor delicious regional specialties like choucroute, tarte flambée, or freshly baked pretzels while enjoying the warm, festive ambiance. It’s a perfect moment to relax, share a delightful meal together, and get ready for the next part of your adventure.
After lunch, your private driver will take you back to Strasbourg for the next exciting chapter of the day. Instead of a traditional tour, your guide will turn the discovery of Strasbourg’s landmarks into a fun, family-friendly adventure! Kids will love exploring the towering Strasbourg Cathedral—where they’ll hear stories about knights and mysteries hidden in the stone carvings—and then continue to Petite France, a fairytale-like neighborhood that’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site. With its canals and timbered houses, this magical place will feel like stepping into another time. Your guide will spark their imagination with tales of how people lived here long ago, keeping everyone engaged and entertained.
The fun continues as you visit the Carré d’Or district, where Strasbourg’s famous Christmas market is in full swing. Here, your children will be introduced to Alsatian Christmas traditions, from the story of Saint Nicholas to the region’s iconic Christkindelsmärik (Christmas market). They’ll discover how local families celebrate, from decorating beautiful Advent wreaths to baking the much-loved Bredele cookies. Your guide will also explain the special holiday foods, giving everyone a deeper understanding of the local customs.
Around 6:30 PM, you’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll back to the Strasbourg train station, with plenty of time to unwind before your later train back to Paris. You’ll return home with magical memories and the holiday spirit in your hearts, ready to relive this enchanting day for years to come.

The meeting is at 11:00 AM in Strasbourg, so we recommend taking the train departing from Paris Gare de l’Est at 9:25 AM. For the return trip to Paris, we suggest taking the train leaving Strasbourg at 6:19 PM
