Overview

Explore the wonders of Venice on this 2.5-hour private tour, led by our kid-friendly guide and thoughtfully tailored for families. Enjoy a one-hour private water taxi ride along the Grand Canal and through Venice’s picturesque neighborhoods, followed by an engaging observation game in St. Mark’s Square, specially designed for kids.

Your journey begins aboard a private water taxi, gliding along the Grand Canal—Venice’s main waterway—lined with stunning palaces and bustling activity. From there, the ride continues into Venice’s charming neighborhoods, navigating quieter canals where you’ll gain insight into the daily rhythms of Venetian life. As your guide reveals the unique features of Venice, you’ll learn how the city was ingeniously built on a network of wooden piles and islands, and how life in this car-free city depends entirely on its waterways. Deliveries, firefighters, and even ambulances rely on boats to navigate these historic canals.

The scenic cruise introduces you to Venice’s six sestieri (neighborhoods), each with its own distinct character. From the lively Rialto markets in San Polo to the peaceful corners of Dorsoduro and the bustling charm of Cannaregio, you’ll experience the vibrant diversity that makes Venice so unique.

Combine the thrill of a grand canal private cruise with an exciting game for kids in St. Mark’s Square

You then disembark in St. Mark’s Square, the beating heart of Venice, where an exciting observation game inspired by Marco Polo awaits your little explorers! Equipped with their activity booklet, they’ll be transported to the 13th century, tackling a series of challenges to prove their skills in observation, discovery, and critical thinking—just like the legendary Venetian adventurer. Younger children who aren’t yet able to read will be invited to a playful lion hunt, searching for lion symbols hidden in the square’s carvings and decorations.

During the visit, you will stop to admire the magnificent facade of the Doge’s Palace, a stunning Gothic masterpiece that once served as the residence of the Doge and the seat of Venice’s powerful government. The journey continues with St. Mark’s Basilica, a breathtaking blend of Byzantine and Venetian architecture. Known for its shimmering golden mosaics, ornate domes, and intricate details, the basilica stands as a testament to Venice’s artistic and cultural legacy. Finally, your guide will direct your attention to the Campanile, the towering bell tower of St. Mark’s Basilica. Standing nearly 100 meters tall, this landmark has guided sailors for centuries and offers one of the most striking silhouettes on Venice’s skyline.

This family tour offers the perfect mix of sightseeing, learning, and fun. Everyone will enjoy exploring Venice’s iconic landmarks, quieter corners, and unique waterways while creating memories to treasure forever. From the Grand Canal to the legendary landmarks of St. Mark’s Square, this tour is an unforgettable journey for the entire family.

Let Venice’s waterways and history come alive on this unique family adventure—where magic is just around the corner, or down the canal!

What’s the difference between a water taxi and a gondola?

[bouton_read_more]

Both are iconic ways to explore Venice, but they’re designed for different experiences. Water taxis, being motorized, allow you to travel further and see more of Venice. They’re perfect for cruising along the Grand Canal, where you can admire its magnificent palaces, and for exploring less touristy neighborhoods, giving your family a broader perspective of the city. Gondolas, with their unique shape, are perfect for gliding through the city’s narrow canals and offer a peaceful ride—it’s the ideal moment for a family selfie! Is this tour adapted for very young kids?

We specialize in creating family-friendly tours tailored for children of all ages! For younger kids who aren’t reading yet, we’ve designed a fun and interactive lion hunt, where they’ll enjoy spotting these iconic symbols scattered across St. Mark’s square!

Is this tour suitable for teens?

Definitely! While we don’t use a game booklet for teens, our expert guides adapt their storytelling to engage, entertain, and inspire teenagers throughout the tour. Fun guaranteed !

Can I get seasick during our Grand Canal Private Cruise?

No need to worry! We glide gently through the tranquil waters of the lagoon, far from the open sea, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for everyone.

What happens if it rains?

No problem—the show goes on! The water taxi is fully covered, and St. Mark’s Square offers plenty of sheltered arcades. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a hot chocolate or cappuccino at one of the cozy cafés nearby!
