Ready to eat your way through Paris in family?
This private 2.5-hour Paris food tour is specially designed for families with kids, combining savory and sweet French specialties with the history, stories and hidden corners of Le Marais.
With your private, kid-friendly foodie guide, your family will explore one of Paris’s most historic neighborhoods through artisan food shops, elegant squares and atmospheric streets. The tour is designed to keep children engaged while giving the whole family a relaxed and delicious introduction to French food and Parisian culture.
Expect a mix of cheese, fresh bread, a traditional Breton galette and irresistible French sweets, with plenty of time to taste, explore and enjoy the neighborhood together. Come hungry. We take French food very seriously, even when we are having fun.
Stop One: French cheese tasting
Our first stop is a traditional fromagerie, where we will select a platter of delicious French cheeses. Your guide will introduce you to different textures, regions and flavors, helping curious children and adventurous adults discover their favorites. Mild, creamy, firm or full of character, there is a French cheese for almost everyone. Choosing just a few may be harder than expected

Stop Two: Fresh baguette and picnic in Place des Vosges
Next, we visit a traditional Parisian boulangerie to pick up a freshly baked baguette. Crisp on the outside and soft and airy inside, the baguette is much more than everyday bread in France. Then, armed with our cheese and fresh bread, we will head to the magnificent Place des Vosges for a relaxed tasting. Commissioned by King Henri IV and originally known as Place Royale, it is one of the oldest and most elegant squares in Paris. Surrounded by harmonious red-brick pavilions and leafy gardens, it offers the perfect setting for a truly Parisian picnic.
Stop Three: A traditional Breton galette
It is now time to sit down in an authentic Breton crêperie and taste one of Brittany’s most iconic specialties: the galette complète.
What is the difference between a galette and a crêpe? A traditional Breton galette is savory and made with buckwheat flour, giving it a distinctive flavor and darker color. A crêpe, by contrast, is prepared with wheat flour and is usually served sweet.
Your galette complète will be prepared with an egg and organic Emmental cheese, with a choice of savory fillings such as meat, smoked salmon or vegetables. Vegetarian options are also available. Adults can accompany it with traditional Breton cider, while younger guests can enjoy apple juice.
Stop Four: Artisan chocolate
After the savory part of the tour, it is time to move on to something sweet. Your guide will take you to discover a chocolate creation selected for its quality and flavor. Depending on the season, you may taste a praline, ganache or another specialty while learning how French chocolatiers transform simple ingredients into tiny edible works of art. Dark chocolate fan? Milk chocolate loyalist? Still undecided? This is the perfect place to conduct some serious family research.
Stop Five: Watch a French pastry being made before your eyes
One of the most visual stops of the tour is also one of the lightest and most delicate. You will taste a merveilleux, a French pastry made with crisp meringue, whipped cream and fine chocolate shavings. The best part is watching it being prepared right in front of you, from the meringue shells being covered with cream to the final coating of chocolate shavings.
Stop Six: A macaron by one of Paris’s most celebrated pastry chefs
For the grand finale, we visit one of Paris’s most renowned macaron makers, often nicknamed the “Pope of Macarons.” Here, macarons are created almost like haute couture collections, with refined combinations and seasonal flavors. Beneath the delicate shell is a soft, flavorful center that explains why this tiny French pastry has become famous around the world. Everyone can choose the flavor that tempts them most, from classic chocolate to more surprising seasonal creations.
A delicious way to discover Paris with kids
Between tastings, your guide will bring Le Marais to life through its elegant mansions, hidden courtyards, historic streets and magnificent Place des Vosges. The pace and stories are adapted to your children’s ages, making this a fun and relaxed way for the whole family to discover French food, local traditions and Parisian history together. Please note that individual stops may vary depending on shop opening days and hours. The number and variety of tastings will always be respected.
And if you look for another food experience in another district, have a look at our Sweet & Chocolate tour at Saint Germain des Prés!
Please note that the itinerary and individual stops may vary depending on shop opening days and availability, but don’t worry, there will always be 6 delicious tastings along the way.
This Paris food tour with kids is a private experience, just for you and your family. This allows your guide to adapt the pace, stories and tastings to your children’s ages, tastes and interests.

All food tastings and drinks mentioned in the tour description are included in the price. Any extra food, drinks or purchases you would like to make along the way are at your own expense.
Yes. Vegetarian options are available throughout the tour, including for the Breton galette. Please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
With advance notice, the tour can also be adapted for guests following a gluten-free diet. The traditional Breton galette is naturally made with buckwheat flour, and alternative tastings can be arranged where needed. Please note that the shops and restaurants visited also handle wheat, so we cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free environment.
The tour runs rain or shine. The galette tasting takes place indoors in the crêperie, and if the weather does not allow for a picnic in the garden at Place des Vosges, your cheese and baguette tasting will simply take place in a sheltered spot nearby.
Then take a look at our Family Food Tour on Île Saint-Louis, featuring classic French dishes such as foie gras, French onion soup and a crêpe or ice cream.
Just advise our superhero squad in your request form about the number of people in your party, as well as their category (adult or child), so we’ll be able to tell you about the extra fee per additional person.
