This Paris food tour for families takes place on Île Saint-Louis, a charming island on the Seine in the heart of the city. With just eight residential streets and four riverfront quays, this unspoiled neighbourhood is packed with authentic Parisian charm, passionate food artisans, and historic architecture. Far from the touristy crowds of Montmartre or Le Marais, Île Saint-Louis offers a truly local experience — and the perfect setting for tasting some of the finest French specialties.

Stop One: The Baguette
Probably the most important food in France — and trust us, this is not just bread! This boulangerie supplies baguettes to the legendary (and ultra-exclusive) La Tour d’Argent restaurant. If you can’t snag a table there, at least you’ll get a taste of their bread!

Stop Two: Cheese
Say “fromage!” Did you know there are over 1,200 French cheeses? You’ll sample a selection of the very best from a master cheesemaker who creates his own delicious varieties. You’ll learn about each cheese’s origin and unique flavors before enjoying a generous tasting.

Stop Three: Foie Gras
A symbol of French gastronomy and refinement. This award-winning, family-run shop has been supplying France’s top restaurants since 1920. Now it’s your turn to taste their exceptional creations.

Stop Four: French Onion Soup
Warm, cheesy, and irresistibly comforting! We’ll enjoy this Parisian classic — topped with gooey melted cheese and crunchy golden croutons — in a typical Parisian brasserie decorated like a vintage metro station, complete with its iconic white tiles and even a few original old metro seats. Feeling adventurous? You can also try the famous escargots (snails) — available as an optional extra.

Stop Five: Confectionery
Time for something sweet with a long history! Since 1825, this artisan confectioner has been making their famous Pastilles du Bassin de Vichy, a refreshing little treat that Parisians have loved for generations — especially after a big meal.

And not just any macaron… we’ll visit the shop of the “Pope of Macarons,” renowned for perfecting this iconic French treat. Stop Seven: Crêpes or Ice Cream
To finish on a sweet note, choose between a fluffy and delicious crêpe, straight off the griddle, with sugar, lemon, or Nutella… or a scoop of legendary Berthillon ice cream, a Parisian favorite since 1954, made right here on Île Saint-Louis with rich, natural flavors.

No worries! Most of this kid-friendly Paris food tour takes place inside charming shops and restaurants, so it will go ahead rain or shine.

Does this tour involve a lot of walking?

Not at all. Île Saint-Louis is small, flat, and easy to explore — perfect for children and anyone with walking difficulties. We take our time between stops, and there’s a seated break when we enjoy the French onion soup.

Is it suitable for young kids?

Absolutely! All curious little gourmands are welcome — even babies in strollers.

Is the tour private or shared?
