Ready to explore the very best of the Alpilles with your family? This private tour connects Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Les Baux-de-Provence in one carefully designed day where children and teens are at the heart of the adventure. From tasting authentic specialties in Saint-Rémy to visiting the landscapes where Vincent van Gogh once painted, wandering the dramatic streets of Les Baux and stepping inside the Carrière des Lumières immersive art show, every moment is a seamless family quest. This is Provence at its most vibrant, designed to keep younger guests engaged from start to finish.
Your day begins in the charming streets of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence with a food tour specifically designed to replace lunch. Instead of sitting in one restaurant, your guide shares their favorite local addresses during a relaxed gourmet stroll, turning the village into a giant tasting menu for the whole family. You will discover the best local treats, from Alpilles olive oil and fresh goat cheese to warm fougasse and almond-scented calissons.

A short drive brings you to Saint-Paul de Mausole, the asylum where Vincent van Gogh stayed for nearly a year between 1889 and 1890. During this time, he painted around 150 canvases, including several works that would later become world-famous, inspired by the surrounding olive groves, cypress trees, and the intense light of the Alpilles. Standing here in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, near the very landscapes that appear in his paintings, is a powerful moment for the whole family. It is one thing to see his art in a museum; it is another to stand where he actually created it.
Perched high above the Alpilles, the village of Les Baux-de-Provence is listed as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France,” and its dramatic setting feels like stepping into a storybook. As you wander through its narrow stone streets with your children and teens, panoramic views open onto rocky landscapes stretching to the horizon. Your family will have the freedom to discover the village at your own pace, browsing artisan boutiques or pausing for a drink while soaking in the medieval atmosphere and sun-warmed facades.
Your adventure reaches its peak inside a former limestone quarry turned into a giant, immersive gallery. Forget standing in front of a quiet canvas; here, vibrant projections cover the vast stone walls and floors, surrounding your family with light and music. This year, the masterpieces of Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo take over the space, allowing you to walk through the art as it moves and transforms around you. It’s a sensory experience that brings these iconic works to life on a scale you’ve never seen before.
We make sure your kids have a blast by putting them in charge. We lend each child their own Instamatic camera for a special “Reporter Mission.” They’ll be so busy hunting for the best shots that they’ll lose track of time. This creative challenge keeps them fully engaged and having fun throughout the day, and they’ll leave with their own physical photos to show off.
We offer pick-up and drop-off anywhere in Provence and Camargue. Whether you are staying in a hotel, a villa, or a remote farmhouse, our guide will meet you directly at your doorstep. We handle all the logistics so you can focus on your family.

That is our #1 priority. To keep them engaged, we lend each of them an Instamatic camera for a “Reporter Mission,” turning the walk into a creative hunt for the best shots. (Note: Cameras are lent for use at no additional cost. They can be purchased afterward for €140 if your kids want to keep them). Combined with the immersive Carrière des Lumières, they won’t see the time pass.
We make a dedicated stop to see the site and the famous landscapes from the outside, where you can see reproductions of the paintings “in situ.” Since the bedroom inside is a reconstruction, we find staying outside keeps the day more active. However, if you’d like to go inside, it’s always possible—just talk to your guide!
No problem! We can customize the food tour to be more dessert-focused with sweets like calissons and chocolates. The simple flavors of fresh bread and mild cheeses are usually a hit, and there’s zero pressure.
Yes! Saint-Rémy-de-Provence stays very much alive on Sundays during the season. Most boutiques, galleries, and gourmet shops remain open, making it one of the best days to soak up the atmosphere.
We keep the pace relaxed and family-friendly. The itinerary is always adapted to your family’s energy levels, with plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view.
